Since 1972,
Rev. Bob
Ellis has been teaching Bible classes and seminars
on a quest for the truth about God through Jesus Christ. For Bob, it’s not
enough to simply grasp sound doctrine and believe the “right” things. He
wanted the information to mean something; to make a difference in the way
life is lived. He wanted to find the real joy and peace that Jesus promised
and the abundant life that He came to give us. So Bob’s approach to
scripture is not to find a replacement for the Old Testament Mosaic Law, so
that we can build a standard no one can live up to and continue to live our
lives in guilt and fear. His goal was and is to find the way of freedom,
relating to the LORD in righteousness by practicing the presence of God
through faith by grace.
In 1994 while on this
quest for truth, Bob compiled the research of the late Ken Coulter (Founder
of Grace Ministries, Inc. of Dallas and New Orleans) into a booklet called
"Dispelling the Myth". It is an exegesis of the problematic passages dealing
with homosexuality. The first Internet site containing this work went up in
1996. The original site is now off-line. Since then, more than two dozen
other web sites have sprung up with this work on them including a
Portuguese version. Mercy To All includes
not only the official version of "Dispelling the Myth", but also other
writings from Bob’s unique perspective.
Purpose Statement And Ministry Goals
The focus of the Logos Ministries shall
be to bring ALL people to a knowledge of the redeeming love and
provision of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins; reconciling of
the broken relationship between God and mankind.
There is a
special call to the mission field of the gay community;
dispelling the
myth of God’s “limited” love and
instead sharing with them the message of God’s unmerited acceptance to
all people who believe. Serving also as a beacon of light to the
straight community as they relate to the issues of prejudice against
anyone generated by traditional beliefs based on ignorance; proclaiming
to them the genuine message of God’s love for all and his acceptance on
the basis of faith and not on the basis of any other issue.
To Make Disciples:
Matthew 28:19
“Therefore
go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the
Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

and teaching them to
obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always,
to the very end of the age."
Disciple Making is defined as the
person to person investment one makes of their life toward influencing
the life of other(s) for the purpose of promoting the expansion of the
kingdom of God on earth.

In keeping with the command
of Jesus to ask in order to receive his empowerment for the mission:

"Ask, and it shall be given to
you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you.

knocks it shall be opened.”

"Again I say to you, that if two
of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be
done for them by My Father who is in heaven.”

These are special events
strategically and routinely scheduled to bring a consistent focus on
those who have not heard the gospel (good news) about the love and
unmerited favor (grace) of God demonstrated specifically through the
sacrificial atoning death and life-giving resurrection of Jesus
Christ the Son of God.

2 Timothy 4:1
I solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus,
who is to judge the living and the dead, and by His appearing and
His kingdom: 2 preach the word; be ready in season and out of
season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and
instruction.
TEACHING PROGRAM
Recognizing that
successful Christian living is contingent upon:

Ephesians
4:11 And He gave some as
apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors
and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of
service, to the building up of the body of Christ; 13 until we all
attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to
a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the
fullness of Christ. 14 As a result, we are no longer to be
children, tossed here and there by waves, and carried about by every wind of
doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming; 15
but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him,
who is the head, even Christ, 16 from whom the whole body, being
fitted and held together by that which every joint supplies, according to
the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body
for the building up of itself in love.
Education
Program Goals:

Mature the body of believers
concerning their spiritual gifts so that they can take their place
in the work of service (ministry).

doses of education in the Word of God (Bible study) to bring
stability and direction to otherwise directionless lives.

for the expressed purpose of producing men and women who have
noticeably productive lives and are able to demonstrate a
life-changing kind of love toward others.
